Mikaela Reuben

Smoothie Mixologist / Happy Gut Chef

Nutritionist and health coach Mikaela Reuben grew up on Vancouver Island, a bohemian enclave off the wild and wonderful coast of British Columbia. It was in her parents’ kitchen that she learned about many of the principles she incorporates into her work today: the importance of local ingredients, a desire to innovate, epicurean lust, and knowledge of how our bodies respond.

After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria, Mikaela embarked upon another facet of her health obsession: revitalizing the physical body. A year into her physiotherapy degree at the University of British Columbia, Mikaela had a revelation that fascinated her –how the body, mind and soul work together to determine overall well being. With her background in cooking, Mikaela soon realized that creating meal plans focused on the needs of each client’s bio-individuality proved to be a radical tool for improving holistic health.

From designing delicious and innovative meal plans for A-list celebrities to educating businesses on the impact of healthy work environments, Mikaela is committed to changing the way people think and approach their bodies. As a person who values quick laughter and nights out dancing as much as organic kale and yoga, she brings a dynamic, balanced energy–Mikaela believes stress and deprivation can be as spiritually damaging as a chocolate bar.

It is with this sense of knowledge, kindness and creativity that Mikaela worked with Dr. Pedre to create the Happy Gut Kitchen smoothie recipes.
